Emerson Repair & Warranty

Emerson

Emerson manufactures a range of appliances and tools for commercial and residential applications. Their product line includes high-end garbage disposals, generators, pressure washers, hot water dispensers, thermostats, and heavy-duty vacuums. Several of these products are sold under subsidiary brands, such as Sensi, Copeland, and Dixell.

This article will give a summary of Emerson’s limited warranty policies. It will also provide some information on how to extend coverage on Emerson products.

Emerson Warranty Coverage Overview

The terms of Emerson’s warranty coverage are standard for the industry. Emerson warrants its products to be free from defective materials and poor workmanship when purchased new from an authorized retailer. If a product has any defect deemed to be Emerson’s responsibility, the company will repair, replace, or refund it. Emerson’s warranty does not cover damages sustained from accidents, abuse, negligence, or mishandling. Notably, it does not cover normal wear and tear either.

While the above applies to virtually all of Emerson’s tools and appliances, the warranty period varies from product to product. Sensi thermostats, for example, are backed by a three-year warranty (though some pro models have a five-year warranty if installed by a professional contractor). Copeland brand climate products, however, are warrantied for one year after purchase.

Occasionally, specific product components may have shorter or longer warranty periods than that of the overall appliance. For example, consumable components, such as o-rings and membranes, may have a 90-day warranty even when the greater appliance has a one-year warranty. As always, it’s best to consult your product’s documentation or contact Emerson directly to be sure of the extent of warranty coverage on your tool or appliance.

Emerson Extended Warranty Coverage Overview

The limitations of Emerson warranties—in both time and extent of coverage—make Emerson protection plans or extended warranties more attractive to homeowners. But while Emerson does offer extended warranty service for some of their automation solutions, the company does not sponsor official extended coverage for its major home tools and appliances.
