    When you request service for a covered item, you will be charged a pre-set fee in order to initiate the service request.

    With an LHG Home Warranty, when a covered item needs repair, simply follow these steps:

    • Request the service online or call (866) 396-5837
    • After paying your set fee, we’ll put you in contact with a local contractor to schedule your appointment.
    • After officially diagnosing the problem, the contractor will contact us to make sure the issue is covered by your plan.
    • If everything checks out, the contractor will then repair or replace the item in question.
    • Afterwards, we’ll check in with you by email or phone to make sure you’re happy with the job.
  • Why is buying a home warranty a good decision for my budget?

    A home warranty protects your budget by removing the risk of fluctuating expenses when big ticket items break down. If you have a Liberty Home Guard Home Warranty, then you’ll pay for your monthly plan, along with the set trade service call fee associated with any repairs, instead of the full retail cost of replacing or repairing any of your home items or systems.

  • Do I have to have a home inspection before I can get an Liberty Home Guard Home Warranty?

    No. Liberty Home Guard doesn’t require a home inspection or any maintenance records to purchase a home warranty plan. Also, we will not refuse coverage due to the age of your home’s systems and appliances.

  • How is a home warranty different from homeowner’s insurance?

    A good way to think about the difference is: homeowner’s insurance usually protects you from things that might happen to your home, like fires or theft. A home warranty helps protect your budget by covering components of home systems and appliances that breakdown from normal wear and tear.

  • What’s the difference between a home warranty and a manufacturer’s warranty?

    The main difference is that a manufacturer’s warranty generally covers the failed part of a single appliance, but usually doesn’t include the cost of labor or repair. With a home warranty, one plan covers a variety of systems and appliances, making it a more cost effective way to safeguard your home.

  • Can I choose my own service contractor?

    Under certain circumstances you can. Most of the time however, it will make the most sense and save you the most money by letting us find you an LHG Certified Professional. All of our contractors are licensed professionals, and their work comes with a 60-day workmanship guarantee.

  • What does a Liberty Home Guard Home Warranty cover?

  • Are there any exclusions to my contract or limits to my coverage?

    Yes, there are some limitations to what a Home Warranty plan can cover. LHG always has its customers in mind. We meticulously study and evaluate which systems and appliance breakdowns are most likely to disrupt your home to ensure we cover you for what matters most. Home Warranties cover breakdowns that occur due to normal wear and tear. Take for example if a fan in your AC unit breaks due to natural use, that’s where LHG would step in to cover the replacement. However, if that AC was broken from human misuse or a natural event, it would not fall under our coverage. The good news is, in the event it occurred because of a natural event such as a hurricane, homeowner’s insurance may cover the damage.

  • My Systems and Appliances are old, does that matter?

    No, it doesn’t. You can get a LHG warranty plan no matter the age of your appliances.

  • When can I start using my plan?

    You can start requesting service after 30-60 days depending on the coverage you purchase. If you purchased your plan while buying your home, ask your agent about whether or not we start coverage on the day escrow closes.

  • Can I change my plan later?

    If, for any reason, you need to change your plan, you can do so within the first 30 days of purchasing your coverage. To make a switch call 833-LHGUARD (544-8273)

  • How long does my contract last?

    LHG seeks to empower its customers, enabiling you to find the contract term that is right for you. You can purchase a policy that is month-to-month, annual, or multi-year. Our multi-year plans provide the most value, call us toll free at (866) 396-5837 to find out more.

  • How do I make sure my coverage continues?

    If you have set up automatic payments with us, will send your new contract 30 days before the old one expires. If you are not on an automatic payment system, you can continue coverage by logging into your account or calling us toll free at (866) 396-5837.

  • Can I cancel at any time?

    Yes, you can cancel at any time. If your cancelation occurs within the first 30 days of your coverage, we’ll refund your contract fees minus the cost of claims paid, and a small administrative overhead fee. If you cancel after the 30th day, you’ll receive a pro-rated refund of your contract fees for the rest of the contract term minus the cost of claims paid, and a small administrative overhead fee.

  • Is there a limit to the number repairs during my contract term?

    No, we do not have a limit, although some coverage limitations, such as cost caps, may apply.
