The Benefits Of Having A Home Warranty: A Crash Course
What is a Home Warranty?
A home warranty is a service contract that covers repair and replacement costs when your home’s systems and appliances break down due to normal wear and tear. Liberty Home Guard oversees the process of repairing your home equipment from start to finish. Our network of state-licensed technicians ensures you have access to the highest quality workmanship and technical expertise.
A home warranty is an excellent complement to standard homeowner’s insurance. Insurance typically covers damages resulting from disaster, accident, or theft. It does not cover appliance breakdowns, home system repair, or home maintenance services—such coverage is the domain of home warranties. A homeowner with both a home warranty and home insurance policy enjoys more thorough and robust financial protection.
A home warranty is especially useful when a big-ticket item, such as a furnace or refrigerator, breaks down. Without financial protection, such major appliances can cost several hundreds or thousands of dollars to repair. A home warranty protects you from such exorbitant out-of-pocket expenses. A Liberty Home Guard plan can be yours for as little as $1 per day. Our coverage does not require an inspection of your home’s systems and appliances, and we’ll service virtually any working appliance.
What’s Covered?
Liberty Home Guard’s home warranty coverage provides protection for all major home systems and appliances, including kitchen and laundry appliances, electrical systems, plumbing, ductwork, and heating and cooling systems. We also provide home maintenance services, such as pest control, gutter cleaning, and rekeying.
We offer three major home warranty plans: Systems Guard, Appliance Guard, and Total Home Guard. Our Total Home Guard plan provides the most comprehensive coverage and is the most economical of the three. We understand that each home has unique needs, so we offer a suite of add-ons that our customers can use to customize their policies. Our customization options include everything from electronics protection to septic tank support, and we offer more add-ons than any other home warranty provider.
Why Do I Need One?
While a home warranty is not a prerequisite for homeownership, it relieves much of the stress that comes with owning a home. It spares you the hassle of scrambling for a reliable technician or repairperson, and it provides you with the reassurance that your critical appliances will be swiftly repaired when they unexpectedly fail. And a home warranty saves you money!
With the right plan, the amount you spend on a policy premium is less than what you would have spent on home repairs out of pocket.
So, do you need a home warranty? Only if you need convenience, peace of mind, and more money in your pocket—and who doesn’t?
A combination of both our Appliance Guard and Systems Guard plans, the Total Home Guard coverage is our most comprehensive, it's also our most economical!
Our Appliance Guard plan covers many of your primary kitchen and general home appliances. Things like your Refrigerator, Oven, Dishwasher, Washer, Dryer and more!
Gas oven won’t start? We’ll get you cooking in no time. A malfunctioning oven could have a number of causes, from faulty parts to a tripped breaker, but some basic troubleshooting can help you narrow down the culprit quickly.
Buying a new appliance shouldn’t be a spur of the moment decision, especially if your household relies on it every day. As such, it’s important to plan ahead, do your research, and purchase a home warranty plan if you’re looking to save as much money as possible when you have to buy or replace an appliance.
Basement water trouble is one of the most common issues homeowners encounter. Even if you don’t live in a location especially prone to flooding, one serious weather event can overwhelm your home’s defenses and lead to water damage.
A home warranty is a service contract that covers the cost of repairs and replacements for your home’s systems and appliances when they break down over time from normal wear and tear.
Liberty Home Guard offers 3 different plans depending on the coverage your home needs. The Total Home Guard is a combination of both our Appliance Guard and Systems Guard plan. It is our most comprehensive and most economical.
We offer add-ons to each plan. Check HERE for our Home Warranty Plans & Policies page to learn more about everything we cover.
A home warranty covers the costs of repairs and replacements of major home appliances and systems. Home systems, for example, include plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
Homeowners insurance provides coverage if theft or natural disaster hits.
The main difference is that a manufacturer’s warranty generally covers the failed part of a single appliance, but usually doesn’t include the cost of labor or repair. With a home warranty, one plan covers a variety of systems and appliances, making it a more cost-effective way to safeguard your home.
A home warranty protects the homeowner’s budget by removing the risk of fluctuating expenses when big ticket items break down. With a Liberty Home Guard home warranty, the homeowner will pay for a monthly plan, along with a flat rate service call fee associated with any repairs, rather than the full retail cost of replacing or repairing any of their home appliances or systems.

For example, if a fan in your AC unit breaks due to natural use, LHG would cover the replacement. However, if that AC was broken from human misuse or a natural event, it would not fall under our coverage.
