Ben Joseph
Ben Joseph is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Liberty Home Guard, a home warranty company he launched in 2017 and grew organically, without outside funding, into a provider covering homeowners in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Under his leadership, Liberty Home Guard has been named the Best Overall Home Warranty Company by U.S. News & World Report five times, more than any other home warranty provider, most recently in 2026 with a 4.9 out of 5 rating and the No. 1 ranking among 23 national companies.
Before founding Liberty Home Guard, Ben served in military special operations units and worked in Citi's Institutional Business Group, where he taught himself SQL and VBA and built process automation for groups across the bank, including the distressed debt and private equity sales and trading desks, driving improvements that saved the firm eight figures annually. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Ben brings that discipline and instinct for finding and fixing inefficiency to the home warranty industry, where the biggest problems homeowners face are ones incumbents have little incentive to solve.
Ben writes about home warranty coverage and home maintenance for homeowners and real estate professionals. His articles focus on plain-English explanations of how policies actually work, including service fees, coverage limits, the claims process, and the questions to ask before choosing a provider.
