VIZIO offers limited warranties on the majority of their products. Televisions, sound bars, and other electronic devices are warranted against defective materials and poor workmanship for a period of one year. If you purchased your VIZIO device from an authorized wholesale retailer—notably BJ’s Wholesale Club, Costco, or Sam’s Club—then your device may have a three-year warranty.
The terms of VIZIO’s warranty policy are fairly standard. The coverage applies only to products purchased new from VIZIO or an authorized retailer, and VIZIO will honor the full warranty only for products that are used for residential applications. VIZIO products used in commercial contexts are warrantied for only 90 days.
VIZIO’s warranty will not cover wear and tear or cosmetic damage, provided that the damage was sustained after purchase. It also will not cover products that have been damaged from mishandling, abuse, improper installation, or accidents.
Should you need to make a claim, VIZIO also warranties their repair service. Replacement parts and workmanship related to a product’s repair are warrantied for the remainder of the product’s original warranty period or for 90 days—whichever is longer.

Your coverage options don’t end once VIZIO’s limited warranty expires. You can also invest in an extended warranty or protection plan. While this comes at an additional cost, it can save you money in the long run by insuring against product malfunctions. Extended warranties are also more expansive in terms of what they cover; they’re not necessarily limited to defects in materials or workmanship.
VIZIO, like many other electronics manufacturers, does provide their own extended warranty service. This policy, though, is limited to VIZIO products only.
