Gaggenau is a German manufacturer of high-quality kitchen appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, and coffee machines. While Gaggenau provides limited warranties on their products, consumers may be interested in extended coverage to protect these expensive investments after Gaggenau’s warranty expires.
Like other international appliance manufacturers, Gaggenau’s warranty terms vary by country. In the United States, Gaggenau provides warranties for new appliances that will be used for normal household purposes.
Gaggenau advertises their warranty period as 730 days, or two years from the date of the appliance’s purchase. This is true for almost all of their products sold in North America. Some products may have extended coverage for select parts. A Gaggenau refrigerator, for example, may have coverage for parts associated with the sealed refrigeration system for as many as twelve years.
Gaggenau will also cover cosmetic damage to their products, but not for a full two years. Cosmetic coverage is limited to 60 days from the date of purchase.
It’s important to check your appliance’s official documentation to determine the extent of coverage. Read carefully to determine if your warranty will cover only select parts of your appliance. The extended warranty may also cover only parts and not labor.
If your Gaggenau appliance malfunctions or ceases to work entirely, the first step is to determine if your appliance is still under warranty. The reason for this is twofold. First, this will save you money, of course. Gaggenau will take care of any necessary repairs at no cost to you. Second, having an independent technician repair your Gaggenau appliance can void your product’s warranty, potentially costing you more money in the long run if another issue arises.
If your appliance is no longer under warranty, you’ll have to pay out of pocket to have the machine repaired or replaced. Depending on the problem, this expense can be significant.
You can protect yourself from surprise repair costs with an extended warranty.
Gaggenau doesn’t provide extended coverage plans. Consumers interested in Gaggenau protection plans, however, can find coverage with Liberty Home Guard. Our service plans and home warranties cover Gaggenau appliances, as well as appliances from all other major manufacturers. This allows you to combine coverage for multiple items and systems so you can have more comprehensive protection at lower costs.
